Assist Needs Health Care
Episode 169
Mrs. M.K.M. – March, 18, 2016
Miss M.K.M. has two daughters. Her life was going on well until one her daughters, who is now in the preparatory stage, suddenly developed a severe tachycardia. Her heart rate would rise to 200 BPM! This was diagnosed as atrial fibrillation. The girl used to suffer from dizziness, fatigue, shortness of breath, chest pain and blurred vision. She could not exert any effort. Her condition worsened. So much so that she could not go to school or practice any activity. She has to undergo a special kind of cardiac catheterization, namely, catheter ablation—a catheter delivers radio waves to the heart to destroy the abnormal tissue that sends out irregular impulses. This is quite expensive, and the parents cannot not afford it. Moreover, the device used in such an operation is found in only three places.
