About Us


The Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center at Anba Ruweis was established by H. H. Pope Shenouda III on14th November 2000 on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of his ascension to the See of St. Mark. It occupies an area of 2,400 sq. meters and consists of a ground floor, a mezzanine, and six other floors.

In March 2004, His Holiness issued papal decree 14/33 for the formation of the general committee for St. Mark Public Library.  In July 2007, His Holiness issued papal decree 14/36 for the completion of work on the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center.
